Grouping (page 1) |
Group graphics if you want to treat several graphics as a unit. Create provides four kinds of groups: |
Group Scaleable: Individual graphics are not editable; scaling the group scales all graphics equally, as does rotating and shearing. Effects are applied to the group, not the graphics within the group. When the group is ungrouped, the individual graphics retain the scale, rotation, and shear that had been applied to the group.
Table Group: Individual graphics remain editable. Table groups can have a background color and a tiled background image, but cannot have any effects, and cannot be scaled, rotated, or sheared. Resizing the table group resizes the group only, not the individual graphics.
Box Group: Individual graphics remain editable. Box groups can have a background color and a border style. They can also use stroke effects. They can be scaled, rotated, and sheared, and the graphics within the group are affected. When the graphics are ungrouped, they return to their original settings (they do not retain the scale, rotation, and shear applied to the box group). Resizing the box group resizes the group only, not the individual graphics.
Mask Group: Individual graphics are not editable; scaling the group scales all graphics equally, as does rotating and shearing. Effects are applied to the group, not the graphics within the group. When the group is ungrouped, the individual graphics retain the scale, rotation, and shear that had been applied to the group. |
