Effects: Multiple: Drop Shadow: Fills |
|
|
Fills:
Drop shadows work best if the object has a simple (single-color) Fill.
Transparency (alpha) in a color used in a simple fill also adds transparency to the drop shadow.
Pattern Fills:
If the pattern fill is set to Accuracy in the Pattern Editor, adding a drop shadow effect will add the drop shadow to each object in the pattern. If the pattern fill is set to Speed, the drop shadow is added to the entire area. |

You can also add a shadow to the pattern in the Pattern Editor. Since the drawing area by default is zoomed to 400% and drop shadows are not zoomed, be sure to check the pattern image to see how the shadow will appear.
Note: Shadows added to patterns in the Pattern Editor will not print or export to PDF. A workaround is to create a TIFF of an object (select the object, choose TIFF in the Image Well drop down menu, and drag from the Image Well) and use the TIFF for printing. |
