Copied or Linked: When you drag an image file into Create, Create can either copy it into the document or store a link to the original location of the document.
To choose whether dragged in images are copied or linked, open the Preferences window (Create->Preferences… or Command-,), click the Image button, and click the appropriate radio button.
• Copied images make the document larger and slower to open and save. On the other hand, the images won’t disappear because someone deleted or moved them.
• Linked images keep your document smaller and faster to open and close. If Create can’t find the original image file when you open your document, you’ll be given an opportunity to locate it it using a standard Open dialog. |

If you’ve linked your images, but need to put them in your document so you can move it to another file system or email it, choose File->Embed Linked Images…. This will copy all the linked images into your document.
If an image is linked, you can see its path in the Object Info pane. If an image is copied, the Link info field will prefix the image name with “Embedded”. |
