Zoom Tool
To select a specific zoom amount, use the dropdown menu. To zoom in or out, use the + or - buttons. To set a specific zoom amount, choose Set... from the menu. To remove all custom zoom amounts from the dropdown menu, hold the control key while accessing the menu.
Rulers
To toggle the ruler display, click the ruler icon in the Toolbar. You can also choose Tools->Show Rulers or Tools->Hide Rulers from the Tools menu.
When rulers are visible, you can add guides to the view window. To add a vertical guide, click in the ruled area of the horizontal ruler and drag up into the area above the ruler. To add a horizontal guide, click in the ruled area of the vertical ruler and drag into the area to the left of the ruled area. To move a guide, click and drag on its handle. To remove a guide, click on its handle and drag it off the ruler.
To Set Ruler Units
Use the ruler units menu in the General tab of the Preferences window.
You can also add a ruler units menu to your toolbar. Click the Customize Toolbar icon in the Toolbar or choose Customize Toolbar from the Tools menu. Drag the Set Units menu item onto the Toolbar. |
