Displacement Distortion |
|
|
The Displacement Distortion effect applies the grayscale values of a texture to the source image. The output image has a texture defined by the grayscale values. The image on the right side below is the result of applying the displacement distortion filter to a checkerboard pattern using the texture shown on the left side.
Inputs
• Displacement Image: The image to use as a displacement map. If the displacement map is smaller than the image, you need to prepare the map so that the first scan line and the last scan line are the same, and so that the first scan column and the last scan column are the same. You can accomplish this with an image editor application by making the file one pixel larger on the right and the bottom. Then, copy the first scan line to the last scan line and copy the first scan column to the last scan column. Finally, flatten the file.
• Scale: A number that specifies how much to displace the input image with the displacement map. The default value is 50. The range is 0 through 200. |
