Because I am a Father of a thirteen year old boy, I stand before you today to try to improve our world for all beings in it.
I’ll read a quote from a young artist named Meg Kramer, whose artwork was exhibited at the Santa Fe Art Institute exhibition titled “Duct and Cover.” Meg Kramer’s work was also titled “Duct and Cover,” referring to the misguided policy the U.S. government released instructing Americans to purchase duct tape and plastic for sealing all our doors and windows in the advent of a terrorist attack.
The quote is:
“Loyalty to America requires opposition to policies injurious to her principals and welfare. Congress should never give its war making power to America’s C.E.O., especially when his personal interests conflict with those of the people.”
– Meg Kramer
I rest my case.
